Details of Curriculums

The University of Tsukuba had maintained a three-term system since its founding. From 2013, however, it has a semester system with six modules. At the College of Psychology, classes basically finish within a single term (two modules). Please click here to obtain more detailed information.

At the University of Tsukuba, subjects are broadly divided into three categories.

* Basic subjects:
These are common subjects throughout the university. They include a comprehensive subject, foreign languages, and physical education. Most of these basic subjects are compulsory in the first and second years.

* Specialized basic subjects:
These are common subjects for the School of Human Sciences and the College of Psychology. They include subjects that reflect the educational goals of the School of Human Sciences (Introduction to Career Planning, Fieldwork in Human Sciences, etc) and those essential for the study of psychology (Psychology I, Psychology II, Statistical Analysis in Psychology, etc). Most of these subjects are compulsory.

* Specialized subjects:
These are specialized courses in psychology. As indicated in the curriculum concept, the courses are broadly divided into lectures, seminars and training sessions according to their roles. You can choose subjects according to your interests and your future plans.
